I have collected a bunch of exotic herbs over time from watching YouTube hair growth tutorials. While they were taking up space in various jars and packages on my shelves, I decided to take action and start combining them in my henna pack as another way to use them.
I got motivated to try to make the whole thing less messy to apply by thickening it all up with xanthan gum. It worked perfectly! My messy henna turned into a smooth thick gel that held up for 7 hours under a shower cap and scarf with no watery drips, while I spent December 24th multitasking for Christmas.

Were you using Henna to condition your hair, color it, or both?

I use it to color gray around my temples but the ingredients are a conditioner too. They are so good at conditioning that I am going to try a tip I read last week that initially a henna pack can be applied up to 3 times about 3-4 days apart for maximum coverage. Then follow-up every 6 weeks or as needed.
I always felt that henna was too drying for my natural hair before I learned how to add supplements to it. See link attached.
