It looks possibly like 4b hair type, but kind of hard to tell being that it looks like your hair has been blown out. You need to evaluate it when it has been freshly washed with no product added and curl pattern not brushed or combed out.

Try protein treatments to strengthen your hair. Aphogee is good. Also you more than likely have to cut off damaged hair overtime happened to me too I had over processed color treated hair.

Because it won't grow. and it hurts when I comb it. :) I guess I can't totally give up on it though. A part of why your hair isn't growing is because you may not be detangling properly and this is also why it is hurting you.
